BidSignal ("BidSignal," "we," "us," or "our") is a service of Far West Interactive, the parent company of BidSignal. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions can be sent to us at the address at the bottom of this page.
1. Information we collect
- Account info: name, email, phone, company, and password (hashed).
- Service preferences: your trade and the zip codes you want alerts for.
- Billing info: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
- Usage data: basic logs (IP, browser, pages visited, email open/click events) to keep the service running and improve it.
- Public records: we ingest building permit data from the City of Austin Open Data portal. This data is already public.
2. How we use it
- To send you the daily permit digest you signed up for.
- To operate your account, process payments, and provide support.
- To send transactional emails (welcome, billing receipts, trial expiration, password resets).
- To monitor, debug, and improve the service.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not send marketing email on behalf of third parties.
3. Who we share it with
- Service providers that help us run the product: hosting (Lovable Cloud / Supabase), email delivery (Resend), and payments (Stripe).
- Law enforcement when we are required by valid legal process.
- A successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
4. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you cancel and request deletion, we remove your profile and preferences within 30 days. Billing records may be retained longer to meet tax and accounting requirements.
5. Your choices
- Update your trade and zip codes anytime from your dashboard.
- Unsubscribe from the daily digest using the link in any email.
- Request a copy of your data or deletion by emailing us.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password.
7. Children
BidSignal is built for licensed contractors and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. If changes are material, we will email account holders before they take effect.
